CANTERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- The movie cameras are rolling in the quiet little town of Canterbury.
A farmhouse at an undisclosed location is perfect for the spooky tale of Johnny Petrie, played by Jesse James, who inherits his family's farm in Maine.
"I love doing spooky, weird things, and I love sci fi," said Magda Apanowicz.
Apanowicz plays Emma, his mysterious confident.
"When I found out this was being shot in Connecticut I'm like yes," said Apanowicz. "Oh my gosh and it's so eerie, and it's so fun driving these roads to set."
"Connecticut has everything you ever need for movies," said Andrew Gernhard, Synthetic Cinema International. "The locations are great, the people are great."
The crew members were setting up for one of the farm house scenes for the movie in Canterbury Wednesday. They say this house was perfect for what they needed and folks in town say they are happy that they're here.
"The economy that we are looking into, it sure helps, it does," said Mac Tandon, Holiday Inn Express.
Most of the crew is from Connecticut and so is the company providing the African Raven.
"A feather will fall out and when a feather falls out you don't want to be around," said Bill Berloni, Theatrical Inc.
"What does that mean," asked News 8's Tina Detelj.
"You'll have to see the movie to find out," said Berloni.
"Dead Souls" is expected to creep into theaters in October.
