Man hospitalized after being hit by a train

Putnam, Conn. (WTNH) - Police in Putnam are investigating how a man was struck by a train Monday night.

The train hit a man at a crossing on May Street at about 10:00 p.m. That's near the intersection with Railroad Street.

According to the Hartford Courant, the man has been identified as Daniel Roberts, 34.

Following the incident, he was taken to Day Kimball Hospital. He was later transfered to UMass Memorial Medical Center where he is in critical condition.

No other details were available from authorities.
