Conn. woman dies in head-on crash in RI

Glocester, R.I. (AP) - Police say a 70-year-old woman died and a 25-year-old man is facing drunken driving charges after a head-on crash in Glocester, Rhode Island, over the weekend.

Police say Anthony Muller of Hampton, Conn. was driving at high speed westbound on Route 44 late Saturday night when he crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a car driven by 70-year-old Eileen Kozlowski of North Grosvenordale, Conn. head-on.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Muller and a passenger were taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

Muller was held on $100,000 bail at his arraignment at the hospital pending a court appearance upon his release.

He is facing various charges, including driving under the influence with death resulting.

The accident remains under investigation.
