One dead in Pomfret motorcycle crash

Pomfret, Conn (WTNH) - Pomfret police are investigating an accident involving a motorcycle Saturday afternoon on Route 244 that has left one person dead and another injured.

The accident occurred around 1:45pm on Route 244 near Peterson Road. Police said Christopher Corona, 23, of Houston Texas, and his passenger, Kristin Pare, 21, of Haddam, were on a motorcycle traveling westbound. Officers said they failed to negotiate a curve, and crashed head-on into a car traveling eastbound.

Both Corona and Pare were rushed to Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. Police said that Corona later died from his injuries. Pare's condition is unknown.

The driver of the car, Susan Rosa, 54, of Pomfret, and her passenger, were not hurt in the accident.

Police are continuing their investigation.
