PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)-- A 54-year-old man was seriously assaulted Monday morning at the Plainfield Renewable Energy Plant construction site.
Police say Lon Jacobs, the construction site's General Superintendent, arrived at work around 4 AM and went to confront an individual on the property. He was then struck in the head and across his body with a large piece of rebar.
After crawling nearly unconscious to safety, Jacobs was found laying on the ground, suffering from multiple injuries, by another employee coming in for their shift.
Jacobs is being treated at Backus Emergency Center for his injuries.
Police are obtaining video surveillance of the property and urge anyone with information to contact them at 860-564-0804.
