WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) -- Eastern Connecticut State University issued an all clear after a suspicious package found on campus was deemed safe.

People were told to avoid the area after the package was found around noon in High Rise building, a residence hall.

A hazmat team was called in along with the Willimantic FD, the state police bomb squad, DEEP, and the FBI.

The crews determined the suspicious package was actually a roll of toilet paper wrapped with duct tape.

"The package contained a commonly used household product. The building is safe and the incident is closed," the university said in a message posted on their website.
