PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)-- Two teens crashed a car into the front of a bank in Plainfield, early Sunday morning.
Police say when they responded to the scene around 12:20 AM, at the Bank of America in Moosup, a red Mercury Cougar had crashed into the front stone entrance.
The driver of the car, a 16-year-old, and the passenger, a 14-year-old, both from Moosup, had taken off on foot and were not at the scene when officers arrived.
Both teens were later found a short distance away from the accident and taken to Plainfield Backus Hospital. They were treated for possible injuries and later released to their parents' custody.
The 16-year-old driver was charged with operating without a license, evading responsibility, operating without registration, operating without insurance, and reckless driving.
The crash broke the front door and caused damage to the front of the building.
