Putnam, Conn. (WTNH) - A Massachusetts woman was arrested for driving under the influence after an early morning rollover in Putnam Sunday.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m., near Exit 95 on I-395.

State Police said the 2003 GMC Denali was traveling north on I-395 when the driver, 39-year-old Renee Andrews, of 12 Elm St., Webster, Mass., swerved to avoid an animal. The SUV then struck a ditch, causing it to roll over.

One of the vehicle's four passengers, 45-year-old Karen Rumbaugh, of 10 Park St., Webster, Mass., was thrown from the vehicle. She sustained multiple broken bones.

The vehicle came to rest against a group of trees off the right side of the road.

Andrews was arrested for DUI and held on $5,000 bond.
