(WTNH) -- Looking for a job? Be careful, because con artists are looking for you, and they are using a new scam to take advantage of you.

Howard Schwartz with the Connecticut Better Business Bureau says scammers are using the name of legitimate companies, but they aren't authorized employees. They're trying to get your personal information for identity theft, and simply to get money from you.

How to protect yourself?

  • Check the offer's wording & title
  • Search for the listing online
  • Verify with the company
  • Keep it private
