(WTNH) - Human Resources professional and recruiter, Abby Kohut , is on a mission to help one million job seekers find the job of their dreams.

Kohut, a recruiter popularly known online as Absolutely Abby, has been educating jobseekers on the secrets to a successful job search since 2009. Kohut has presented at 200 speaking engagements and job fairs in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, and Pennsylvania. Her appearances on TV and radio include Good Morning Connecticut, The Success Show, and Bloomberg Radio.

"I've been a recruiter in the human resources world for approximately 16 years," Kohut said. "I became really frustrated about the fact that I couldn't tell applicants why I couldn't pass them along to the hiring manager. As Absolutely Abby, I can tell them the Absolute truth."

Backed with extensive experience in Human Resources, Kohut has recruited for a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, education, technology, publishing, manufacturing and legal.

On the heels of her recent book "Absolutely Abby's 101 Job Search Secrets," Kohut provides jobseekers an inside look into what recruiters search for in applicants. From writing a passionate and polished cover letter, preparing answers to top job questions, to providing a resume that showcases your best accomplishments, Kohut provides answers to questions jobseekers do not even know that they should ask.

Kohut stresses the importance of differentiating oneself from the rest through self-marketing and unique ways of doing things completely different to stand out. One example that Kohut suggested is faxing resumes instead of emailing them.

"Recruiters receive resumes in their inbox most of the time, and it's rare for anyone these days to fax over their application," Kohut pointed out.

Kohut also believes in the value of finding new leads through networking. Getting leads from people through events and social media websites, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, provides great opportunities for jobseekers looking to find employment.
