Fitweek New Haven

(WTNH) - Fitweek New Haven is the brainchild of Sarah Aldrich of Aldrich Pilates in New Haven.

While eating in a New Haven restaurant during Restaurant Week, she thought that this same type of concept could be adopted for health and wellness. So she put her wheels in motion and started contacting health and wellness studios in New Haven to see if there was any interest. The idea took off and quickly 15 studios were onboard to launch Fitweek, NH, starting September 19 and will continue through September 25, 2011.

The studios were excited to get onboard with Fitweek because the main focus of this week-long event is to get people to think about different fitness and wellness options that are available to them. "It's great for everyone - whether you are already exercising or just thinking about it", commented Sally Brenzel of Workout on Whitney . Balanced Yoga's owner, Lori Bonnazzoli loves the idea that a person can buy a discounted FITCARD that allows the holder to workout when they want, as many times as they want for an entire week. "It's a cool idea" and it promotes health & wellness."

Other participants in this week-long event are: Aloha Integrative Massage, Balance Fitness Studio for Women, Breathing Room, Fresh Yoga, New Haven Ballet, New Haven Fitness, New Haven Rolfing, New Haven Personal Training, Quantum Phytness Rachel Felson Rolfing, The Fitness Haven, and Tuff Girl Fitness.
