(WTNH) - On this weekend before Valentine's Day several groups along the shoreline are showing their hearts are in the right place.
The Community Foundations for Branford, Madison and Guilford will kick off "Foundations Fuel Families" this Tuesday, Valentine's Day. It's all part of an effort to raise funds for fuel assistance.
The event will be held at 10 a.m., at the Guilford Free Library.
Each foundation has pledged a challenge grant of up to $10,000 for each town that would match every penny donated to the effort. Every single dollar raised will go to the local town organization responsible for emergency fuel assistance, which include Branford Counseling Center, Madison Youth and Family Services via Madison N2N Fund, and Guilford Social Services.
If you have questions or to RSVP contact Liza Janssen Petra, Executive Director of the Guilford Foundation , at 203-824-1827 or lizapetra@gmail.com.
