(WTNH) -- A local youth organization has a a mission to help high school students get prepared for college.
Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs was founded eight years ago in New Haven and the organization is community-based.
Higher Heights works to provide college prep services to high school students and their families and the goal is empower those students to obtain a post-secondary education.
The group's founder and Director, Chaka Felder-McEntire, says that the program has helped over 330 students to date.
Students involved in the program have had a 100% high school graduation rate and a 100% college acceptance rate. Also, 100% of those students have been able to receive financial aid at the college level.
