(WTNH) -- Members of the military risk their lives every day defending our nation, but once they come back home, many of these veterans face the daunting task of trying to find a job.

There is where Wayne Travers, President of the Connecticut Committee for "Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve" (ESGR) comes in.

Wayne Travers Jr. has served as chair of the committee since October 2009. Prior to serving as state chair, he was it's executive director.

"Hero 2 Hired" was created is to simplify the job search, while reducing the number of unemployed Reserve Component Service members. They also allow military-friendly companies to access the talented men and women in the military, post job openings, search for candidates and invite them to apply, and participate in hiring events, all free of charge.
