(WTNH) - Celebrity trend expert Rachel Florio joined us in our studios once again as she shared the trends for summer 2010.
“All things that are nautical” was the theme to this Anchors Away segment, from setting sail from Connecticut’s Longshore Sailing School to arriving on a family vacation at the White Elephant Hotel in Nantucket - all while doing it in style!
Rachel tells us this season you will be seeing the traditional red and navy hues to pretty soft aqua and coral tones. Denim shorts, plaid and stripes oversized shirts, white t-shirts and tie dye scarves are the must-have this season! Celebs like Gwenyth Paltrow, Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, and Charlize Theron have already been shot by the paparazzi in this beach chic attire. Rachel showed us how to pair up denim short shorts with an oversized boyfriend shirt to get the look. You can take the same outfit from day to night by changing out of your flip flops and into your platform sandals.
Rachel's favorite local nautical shop! This store sells everything from racing apparel and boats to flip flops and accessories. The employees are actual boaters and that is comforting when you need to be educated as to what you will really need on the water. Rachel’s pick: The sail bags.

Longshore Sailing School just celebrated its 50th anniversary. Longshore teaches approximately 2,000 students a year on its fleet of over 100 sailboats and kayaks. Rachel Florio knows firsthand how great this facility is, since she just completed their basic sailing program and is now enrolled at their intermediate level, which will then lead in to the advanced class. Classes are informative and well-instructed. You can set sail for the day, kayak, or have fun on a Hobie for the day simply by renting one of Longshore's well-maintained boats. “There is nothing better than being out on the water and the perfect place to do that is on our beautiful Long Island Sound at Longshore," said owner, John Kantor, who says he loves what he has accomplished with the sailing school and takes pride in his instructing and his team. Every year students and friends sign up for their special Caribbean getaway to the Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda for a special 'insiders' week of sun, fun, sailing and adventure. For more information contact Longshore Sailing School.
The White Elephant, located alongside Nantucket's magnificent harbor, has been considered an island landmark since the 1920's. What began as an eclectic mix of cottages has evolved into a premier Nantucket hotel that offers an unexpected blend of island charm and sophisticated amenities that is perfect for Nantucket, Massachusetts lodging. Rachel Florio liked the sophistication of the resort and spa; not to mention the proximity to the Brant Point Lighthouse and the quaint shops. A huge perk is the fact that it is still kid-friendly! The environment is perfect for a family getaway. If you are headed to Nantucket, Rachel suggests staying at the White Elephant.
Maude Asbury is the brand to go to when you are looking for a chic brag book, photo frame, scrap book, and so much more! Rachel showed us Maude Asbury’s new nautical line of navy fabric with sailor knots. The large 12 x18 fabric covered magnetic board is the perfect way of posting notes and pictures. Hang them in the kitchen, near your desk, or in a mud room. Rachel says she loves home décor that’s functional.

Tie dye scarves are hot and celebs like Jessica Alba love Nepali by TDM Design’s collection. Kim Kardashian and Kristin Cavallari have been photographed in Nepali scarves, and where them everywhere they go. Kristin has even been on several episodes of The Hills wearing her favorite style. Wear it with a casual t-shirt, use it as a wrap over a dress or wear one as a sarong. Rachel Florio showed us some eco-friendly bamboo scarves that you can take to the beach.
