New Haven (WTNH) - Miss Connecticut 2008 Ashley Glenn was here this morning to tell
us about her pursuit of the prestigious title of Miss America.
About "Countdown to the Crown":
In TLC's four-part reality series "Countdown to the Crown," the
52 state titleholders vie for a chance to win a spot in the Miss
America Pageant's coveted "top 15."
Each one-hour episode, hosted by Tyler Harcott, finds the
contestants living together on the majestic Queen Mary ocean liner
and follows them as they navigate through a series of team and
individual competitions that help them prepare for the pageant.
Which of the outstanding young women have what it takes to be
Miss America in our increasingly complex world? Throughout the
series, viewers at home get to know the girls, and America is
ultimately given a hand in voting four contestants into the top 15
of the Miss America Pageant.
"Countdown to the Crown" is on every Friday night at 10 p.m.
this month, leading up to the live Miss America Pageant finale
January 24th on TLC.

About Ashley Glenn:
Ashley Glenn is a 23-year-old graduate student at Quinnipiac
University completing her doctorate in physical therapy. In 2007,
she graduated summa cum laude with a G.P.A. of 3.9 from
Quinnipiac's undergraduate program. Ashley has received marked
distinction at Quinnipiac with awards such as the Outstanding
Junior Award and the Mark Tantorski Memorial Award. Ashley is also
a graduate assistant in the human anatomy lab for the third year
physical therapy students.
At the age of three, Ashley began dancing at the Hackworth's
School of Performing Arts where she danced competitively for 15
years receiving numerous regional and national honors. During her
freshman year she joined the Quinnipiac Dance Company, and she now
shares her passion as a dance instructor at Rhythm Dance Academy in
Cheshire.
As Miss Connecticut, Ashley is promoting her issue of concern,
"Focus on Healing," using therapeutic dance and movement to improve
quality of life. She is a certified Lebed Method instructor and
teaches exercise classes for women with breast cancer. Ashley is
also an avid supporter of the Children's Miracle Network and hopes
to raise $2,000.00 as Miss Connecticut.
