New Haven (WTNH) - Miss Connecticut 2008 Ashley Glenn was here this morning to tell us about her pursuit of the prestigious title of Miss America.

About "Countdown to the Crown":

In TLC's four-part reality series "Countdown to the Crown," the 52 state titleholders vie for a chance to win a spot in the Miss America Pageant's coveted "top 15."

Each one-hour episode, hosted by Tyler Harcott, finds the contestants living together on the majestic Queen Mary ocean liner and follows them as they navigate through a series of team and individual competitions that help them prepare for the pageant.

Which of the outstanding young women have what it takes to be Miss America in our increasingly complex world? Throughout the series, viewers at home get to know the girls, and America is ultimately given a hand in voting four contestants into the top 15 of the Miss America Pageant.

"Countdown to the Crown" is on every Friday night at 10 p.m. this month, leading up to the live Miss America Pageant finale January 24th on TLC.
