New Haven (WTNH) - Children's book author and illustrator Katie Davis dishes about Mabel the Tooth Fairy, the subject of her latest book.

"Mabel the Tooth Fairy and How She Got Her Job" tells all about the Tooth Fairy's toothless past. Mabel didn't take care of her teeth, and when they fell out, she began swiping other people’s chompers and passing them off as her own.

Now that she has a full set of pearly whites, Davis says she “keeps stolen teeth on plaques on her walls.”

Davis, a personal friend of the Tooth Fairy, says Mabel also has a man in her life. The Tooth Fairy met her main squeeze, the Sandman, while he was helping kids sleep and she was taking their teeth. They've been together ever since.
