New Haven (WTNH) - 23-year-old Katie Visco, the youngest female ever to attempt to run across America, stopped by Good Morning Connecticut Weekend to talk about her campaign to inspire girls to live a healthier life.

Katie has pledged to run from coast to coast, over 3,200 miles, from Boston to San Diego. She departed from Boston on March 29, and stopped by our studio as she passed through New Haven today.

Running about 100 miles per week, Katie plans to pass through major cities including New Haven, New York City, Cleveland, Chicago, Iowa City, Albuquerque, and Phoenix in her trek. She expects to arrive in San Diego by December 2009.

Katie's run across America is part of her Pave Your Lane campaign to inspire other people to follow their passion while raising money and awareness for Girls on the Run

While passing through each city, Katie will visit local schools and Girls on the Run chapters to share her thoughts on the importance of living a healthful and passion-driven life.
