New Haven (WTNH) - Pastor Rob Turner joined us this morning to talk about the Bridgeport Bible Fellowship's "I Care" Ministry, and how you can help them in their effort to provide assistance to the poor.

The "I Care" Ministry helps the most empoverished members of the community by distributing food, providing clothing, meeting some of their basic utility needs, and providing moral support to them in their time of need.

"We go out into the community, we knock on doors, we look for opportunities to pray with people, we look for opportunities just to interact, to talk, and to bring some message of hope," said Pastor Turner.

The "I Care" ministry is hoping to raise money for their cause in their very first "I Care Walk-A-Thon," happening June 27. It's a 3 mile fitness walk that raises funds for the ministry.

The Bridgeport Bible Fellowship "I Care Walk-A-Thon" will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Florence Blackham School, 425 Thorne St. in Bridgeport.
