New Haven (WTNH) - Lisa Lynn was back with us this morning for the first installment in our "Five Minutes of Fitness" series. Lisa says she'll be able to change your body with just five minutes of your time.

The following information was provided by Lisa:

Everyone can find five minutes to do something, and we probably spend more time thinking about what we should do than actually doing it.

This workout can be done anywhere, anytime, by anyone- so no excuses! It doesn't matter whether your goals are weight loss or general fitness, this workout will work for you and you will see it.

If you are already fit you can always ramp it up by adding more sets or doing extra repetitions. The very best part is that you can take this workout on vacation with you because there is no equipment needed.

This month we started out with simple exercises that we all know but probably take for granted. They are so simple that most of us probably think they are too simple to be effective, but they work if you do them consistently.

I suggest that you start out doing these exercises every day to form a habit and to get yourself hooked on how you feel when you're done. In fact, this is a trick that we celebrity trainers use when we are getting clients ready for photo shoots. We train them every day to see maximum results. If you have a prom or wedding or class reunion to go to and you want to get fit fast, give yourself a month to do these exercises and of course modify your diet and you will arrive in shape!

Keep in mind that you can exercise all day, but if you are eating junk, you will get stronger but won't see results. You will need to clean up your diet and start eating lean proteins and lots of vegetables. If you need help or a Leaner Lifestyle food list please e-mail me at lisalynnfitness@hotmail.com and I will help you reach your goals! Always remember it's 75 percent diet and 25 percent sweat.

FAT LOSS TIP: Try to drink a protein shake two hours before your workout to "prime" your body to burn fat as fuel.

Five Minute Workout:

  • Wide stance Prisoner Squats 25 repetitions
  • Nose to floor pushups 25 Repetitions
  • Full Sit-ups 25 Repetitions
  • Superman 25 Repetitions

The goal is to aim to do 100 repetitions total in five minutes or less. Did I mention that your heart will be pumping too? Expect to be out of breath and sweating and if you're not push yourself as hard as your body can handle!

If you have any questions about your workout or diet please feel free to e-mail me. I am always happy to help!
