New Haven (WTNH) - A tunnel in New Haven is getting transforming into a stage for a spooky Halloween production. Ian and Rachel Alderman are part of the 'Broken Umbrella Theatre Company' and they told 'Good Morning Connecticut' all about a chilling tale called Thunderbolt.

The shows is based on historic events that happened two-hundred years ago in the Elm City and it surrounds the life of Westville's own pirate, Captain Thunderbolt.

The Broken Umbrella Theatre Company says the show is a one-day only ,Halloween event and will be held in New Haven's historic,
Edgewood Park. Through spectacle, song and spine-chilling imagery, the actors of A Broken Umbrella Theatre will walk audiences into the tunnel under Edgewood Avenue to witness the tragic events that unfolded nearly 200 years ago.

Alderman wrote the play and says it features a cast and crew of twenty local artists and professional actors from New York, Los Angeles and Hawaii. Performances begin at 2 pm, run every hour and will be rain or shine; the final performance of the day is 6pm.

This spooky and true ghost story is not recommended for children under eight.
