New Haven (WTNH) - Alison Rhodes, "The Safety Mom," joined us this morning to talk about summertime safety for children.
Alison stressed the importance of wearing the proper safety gear when on riding toys (the leading cause of injury for kids). By simply wearing a bike helmet when riding bikes, Razr scooter or skateboards, 68 percent of head injuries could be avoided.
She also talked about how to keep your kids well hydrated when outside, recognizing the warning signs of heat stroke, and how to be fully prepared for an accident.
