New Haven (WTNH) - Kim DeYoung, the "Metromom," was back with us this morning with three steps business owners and women entrepreneurs must take in order to grow their business online and maximize their time and energy.
Here are the Metromom's tips:
"People do business with those that they've begun to develop a relationship with," said DeYoung. "So as they begin to know you, and to like you, and to trust you, that's when they start to want to keep showing up at your site. They are your prospect, they are your customer, so how do you communicate all of that to them? Through great quality content."
"I don't think it's an option now for women to have a website," DeYoung said. "I don't think it's a luxury, like it used to be. Now, I think it's a necessity. It's not extra, it's expected."
DeYoung recommends using social networking to increase visibility and buzz. "It's one thing to have a great site with great content, but if nobody's really getting to it, it doesn't really matter," she said.
"The reality is, as business owners, we're probably at no shortage of ideas for the things that we want to do in our business," said DeYoung. "You've got to have strong systems so that you can work effectively, and also maintain your sanity."
The Metromom is holding an online success telesummit next weekend, which will provide free strategies to maximize and monetize your online business.
