New Haven, Conn (WTNH) - Branford High School Music Director Cathyann Roding and Pat Andriole with the Branford Counseling Center spoke with GMC Weekend about the upcoming "Roll Over Beethoven" two-part concert at Woolsey Hall in New Haven next weekend to benefit the counseling center.
The project called, "Roll Over Beethoven" will be a two part concert, with the chorus, 150 strong, and a full orchestra performing Beethoven's Mass in C, followed by a number of Rock and Roll favorites from the past including, "Hotel California" made famous by the Eagles, "Dream On," " Heart Breaker," and of course Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Beethoven."
The net proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Branford Counseling Center Basic Needs Program, to provide assistance with food, rent, utilities, heat and prescriptions to needy town residents.
"I'm always looking for projects that will challenge my students to combine all of the elements of music, as well as give them an opportunity to share their ideas and messages with as large and diverse a population as possible, hoping to make a difference in this world," Roding said.
