(WTNH) - The New Haven online news site New Haven Independent [ www.newhavenindependent.org ] has called a time out on allowing comments on its stories.

Founder Paul Bass said in a post " The tone of commenting on the Independent—the remarks readers post at the bottom of stories—seems to have skidded to the nasty edges and run off the rails. "
