East Haven's School Board approves new dress code policy

No more short skirts & flip flops

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- As reported in the New Haven Register, East Haven's school board has approved a new dress code that will be enforced in K-8 schools this fall.

The same policy will be adopted at the high school level in 2013.

What does it mean?:

  • Skirts have to be two inches from the kneecap
  • No more Slippers, sandals, flip-flops and backless or open-toed shoes.
  • No more logo's on shirts
  • No Sweatshirts
  • The permitted colors: White, navy blue or burgundy tops and either navy blue or khaki beige bottoms.
