(WTNH) -- Matthew Badger, the father of the three young girls who were killed in a fire in their Stamford home Christmas morning, is now talking about his loss.
Badger did an interview with Good Morning America 's Claire Shipman, and talks about mourning the loss of his daughters, 10-year-old Lily and 7-year-old twins Sarah and Grace.
In one part of the interview, Badger talked about photos of he and the girls that were taken the day before the fire when he had them for a visit.
"It's so evocative of just-- a glorious moment with your girls. What-- what was that day like," asked Shipman.
"I-- I was-- with them for an entire week-- in my apartment-- which is rather small. And (LAUGH)-- they-- we had a cramped time (LAUGH)."
"Cozy?"
"Cozy time," he said. "There was a lot of dancing. We had our own Christmas tree. That photograph was the day after we had opened up all our presents so they were all very happy."
The house on Shippan Ave. in Stamford caught fire because embers from the fireplace were not discarded properly. There were no working smoke detectors in the home, which was undergoing renovations.
The girls' mother, Madonna Badger, escaped the fire. Her parents, Lomer and Pauline Johnson, were also killed.
