HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A giant in slumber: That's what gives Sleeping Giant State Park it's name. It's profile of traprock ridges gives Connecticut one of its best-known landforms.
30 miles of trails offers visitors a wide-range of difficulty levels. One of the most popular is the Tower Trail. About a mile and half in length, it takes folks to the top of Mt. Carmel and a four-story stone observation tower.
Quite a treat for those willing to climb the tower. A 360 degree view awaits you, including visions of Long Island Sound and the city of New Haven.
For those willing to put in the effort this trip won'tdisappoint.
