(WTNH) -- Forget the malls and big box retailers, stores in your city or town hope you'll boost the local economy by shopping at small businesses tomorrow.
Small Business Saturday was started by American Express and is now embraced by other organizations including the Small Business Adminstration.
There's a Congressional resolution urging you to participate, and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch signed a proclamation marking Nov. 24 as "Small Business Saturday" in Bridgeport.
The day coincides with one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year, starting with Black Friday and wrapping up with Cyber Monday.
