Steve MacLaughlin is an award winning meteorologist who joined News 8 in January, 2011.

Before joining News 8, Steve had been working at WPIX in New York City. He has also worked at television stations KXAS in Dallas, and WPHL in Philadelphia, as well as at the Weather Channel. Steve has experience with Connecticut’s tricky forecasts; he spent time working at News 12 Connecticut early in his career.
He received his degree in Meteorology from Rutgers University.
Steve has been nominated for five Emmy Awards including "Best Weathercaster" three times. He has won two Emmys and won the 2006 "Best Weathercast" by the Associated Press.
Steve has hosted the Jerry Lewis Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy at WPHL in Philadelphia and for KXAS in North Texas and remains active with the MDA throughout the entire year.
Steve is glad to be back in Connecticut, and to be a part of the dedicated professionals who make up Storm Team 8.
