A CPA since 1969, Bill Saas is a highly acclaimed and accomplished TV and radio commentator on taxation, money management and personal finance. The Connecticut Society of CPA’s recently bestowed to him its Annual Service Award “in recognition and appreciation of service volunteering as a CPA expert source in television, radio and newspaper features, especially in the development of public service messages aired regularly on WTNH-TV, News Channel 8". An established journalist and author, he’s published articles covering “exclusive interviews” with high visibility celebrities of sports, entertainment and government service as well as finance and been voted the CPA society’s annual Distinguished Author Award on two separate occasions. Academic Star Mr. Saas graduated Bentley College, Boston, in 1966 with highest academic honor (summa cum laude) also serving as editor of the campus newspaper. He reigns as a Connecticut CPA Gold Medalist, having achieved the state’s highest score completing all sections of the semi-annual examination on his first attempt. (November 1968) TV and Radio WTNH newscast featured Mr. Saas’s expert commentary weekly in 1981 and again in 1986. He returns to airwaves frequently, covering financial and tax-related issues as an expert spokesman for his profession. Having logged literally hundreds of hours fielding listeners’ tax and “smart-money” questions on the radio talk show circuit, he has also served as guest host while regulars vacationed. He developed and aired The Smart Money Quiz With Financial Advisor Bill Saas, a popular feature endorsed by eminent Madison Avenue public relations chieftains for broadcast over leading media market radio. Public and Professional Service Past chairman of the Connecticut Society of CPA’s Committee on Federal Taxation, he has served also on the society’s committees on publications, public relations, and personal financial planning. A popular and frequent lecturer before civic, religious, charitable and professional peer groups, Mr. Saas cherishes profoundly his long-standing status and role as a trusted and respected financial counselor to hundreds of highly educated and eminent executives, media stars and professionals. “CPA-Media” Family Ann and Bill Saas, wed Ann, former classroom teacher having attained full masters credentials in education, now “partners” regularly in Bill’s CPA-related and media pursuits. Los Angeles based Choate/Wellesley alumna Elizabeth is her family’s “direct link to Hollywood”, now completing masters study in dramatic production and screenwriting at the University of Southern California.
