HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Quinnipiac has accepted an invitation to play in the 2012 Paradise Jam basketball tournament in U.S. Virgin Islands, giving the state two schools in the eight-team field.

UConn also will be playing in the November tournament.

The Huskies and Bobcats could meet in the second round, if Quinnipiac can beat Iona and the Huskies make it past Wake Forest.

The other schools involved are New Mexico, Illinois-Chicago, Mercer and George Mason.

The tournament, which will run from Nov. 15-20 at the University of the Virgin Islands, is the first in-season invitational tournament in Quinnipiac's history.
