NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- One local coach made the phrase "going out in style" come to life Wednesday.
Bill Ewen coached his last tennis match for Hopkins School Wednesday. He's been coaching tennis there for 44 years.
And so in the team's final match of the year the Hilltoppers beat Taft to finish the season 16-0. It's their second straight undefeated season.
This past Sunday his team won its third straight New England Prep School championship.
Talk about going out on top: that's exactly what 68-year-old Ewen is doing.
Ewen also coached the schools squash team.
He retired as a full-time math teacher in 2008.
