(WTNH) - UConn

  • Geno Auriemma says Tiffany Hayes is playing the best basketball he has seen her play.
  • What a week for the senior: 35 points in a win at Syracuse, followed by a 33-point performance against South Florida.
  • The 68 total points are the most a Husky has ever scored in back-to-back games.
  • Hayes was named the Big East Player of the Week for the performances. It is the first time she has ever received the award.

Quinnipiac

  • The Quinnipiac Bobcats are struggling to score points this season; both injuries and youth have something to do with it.
  • However, not many teams in the country crash the boards like Tom Moore's guys.
  • QU is ranked second in the country in overall rebounding and first on the offensive boards.
  • Assistant Coach Scott Burrell says it gives the Bobcats a chance every night.

UNH

  • On February 4th, at the University of New Haven, the Chargers athletic department will be holding its breast cancer awareness day.
  • It will be the sixth year UNH has hosted the event.
  • This year it will take place during the Chargers doubleheader basketball game against rival Pace University.
  • Fans are encouraged to attend the game dressed or painted in pink.
