Quinnipiac beats Central Connecticut State 72-44

HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) - Ike Azotam scored 17 points and Quinnipiac used a big second half to rout Central Connecticut State 72-44 on Wednesday night.

The Bobcats put the game out of reach with a 17-2 run in the second half to take a 57-33 lead after a Jamee Jackson basket with 9:59 to play. The lead remained more than 20 points the rest of the way.

James Johnson added 14 points and Drame Ousmane had 11 for the Bobcats (14-10, 7-6 Northeast Conference), who beat the Blue Devils for the sixth time in a row. Quinnipiac has won five of six and held its past four opponents to 51 points or less.

The Blue Devils shot only 26.8 percent (15 of 65) from the field while Quinnipiac made 46.7 percent (28 of 60).

Ken Horton, who came in averaging 19.8 points per game, had 11 to lead the Blue Devils (10-13, 7-6).
