UNC Wilmington beats Sacred Heart 13-4 in NCAAs

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Drew Farber homered and drove in five runs, and Travis Bradley pitched into the seventh inning to help UNC Wilmington beat Sacred Heart 13-4 on Saturday in an elimination game in the Raleigh Regional.

Farber had four hits, including his three-run homer in the eighth for the third-seeded Seahawks (39-22). That was one of five home runs for UNC Wilmington, including back-to-back shots from Tyler Molinaro and Andrew Cain in the fourth.

UNC Wilmington finished with 17 hits.

Bradley (1-1) earned the win, allowing seven hits and four runs in 6 2-3 innings.

John Murphy and Rocco Gondek each drove in two runs for the fourth-seeded Pioneers (25-32), including Gondek's two-run shot in the seventh.

Nick Leiningen (6-6) took the loss, allowing nine hits and six runs in four innings. Sacred Heart lost to host North Carolina State on Friday and was outscored 29-9 in two games in Raleigh.
