UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - The Connecticut Sun will be thinking pink for breast cancer awareness, from the players' uniforms to the referees' whistles.
The WNBA squad is celebrating Breast Health Awareness Night on Tuesday by wearing pink uniforms and sweat bands for its game against the Chicago Sky.
It's part of the WNBA's Breast Health Awareness Week to raise money for research, early detection and awareness. The league has raised more than $2.5 million in recent years.
Spectators at Tuesday's Connecticut Sun game will receive commemorative pink wrist bands, and several players' pink uniforms will be auctioned off this month as for the fund-raising effort.
