New Haven (WTNH) - We have reached Week # 9 for High School Football. For the second week in a row, there is no change in the top ten.
Top Ranked Glastonbury has stretched it's winning streak to 21 straight. #2 New Canaan came storming back at Greenwich. Down by 13 in the 4th quarter, the Rams blew off going for a tie and went for a 2 point conversion to beat the Cards 35-34.
Masuk's Casey Cochran is the best Sophomore Quarterback in the State. He threw for more than 500 yards and 5 TD's in a win over Bethel.
Ranked 4th, is Cochran's old school, New London. The Whalers are 8 and 0 with a new Quarterback and Head Coach.
The Staples Wreckers are ranked 5th in our Poll. The "other" unbeaten in the FCIAC rolled over Wilton, 35-7... Should be Staples and New Canaan next week for the FCIAC Title.
Ross McDonald ran for more than 200 yards in # 6 Avon's big win over Enfield 51-12.
# 7 Pomperaug is prepping to meet Masuk next week for the SWC Championship. The Panthers beat Weston last week.
At #8 Bloomfield destroys Fermi 52-0.
Jonathon Esposito ran for 2 touchdowns as # 9 Conard beat E. Hartford
The Xavier Falcons won a seventh straight pummeling Fairfield Prep, 35-7.
