East Haven (WTNH) - Two East Haven girls soccer coaches have been reinstated to their jobs after an incident between the coaches and members of the team.

In a statement to News Channel 8, East Haven High School Principal Vanessa Reale said the school investigated the actions of the coaching staff after an incident was brought to their attention.

"Upon completion of our investigation a determination was made that while our coaches may have exercised poor judgment in engaging in some 'horseplay' with students, the students safety and well-being were not placed at risk," Principal Reale said.

"Appropriate disciplinary action has been taken and the coaches are back coaching their team," the statement said.

The principal did not explain what the activity or "horseplay" was that led to the investigation.

A statement from Principal Reale did not identify the coaches who were investigated.
The East Haven High School athletics web site lists Don Dione as the girl's soccer head coach, and Jason Soares as the girl's assistant coach.

"As this is a matter involving personnel, the district will have no further comment concerning this matter," Principal Reale said.

East Haven's girl's varsity soccer team is 2-5-2 on the season, and lost a game Tuesday night. The team is scheduled to play its next game on Friday.
