SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) — Justin Sears grabbed an offensive rebound with 2 seconds left and laid it in to give Yale a 64-62 victory over Bryant on Wednesday night.
Sears had 20 points and nine rebounds, and Jeremiah Kreisberg scored 14 for Yale (3-6).
Dyami Starks had 22 points and Alex Francis 19 for Bryant (4-3), which had won four in a row.
The teams were never more than three points apart in the second half until Michael Grace's layup boosted Yale to a 47-42 advantage 5:16 in. Yale jumped ahead 50-43 on Austin Morgan's 3-pointer with 14:01 left.
With 7:51 remaining, Kreisberg's layup made it 58-51 for Yale, and Kreisberg struck again at 7:08 for a 60-51 lead. Bryant's Joe O'Shea and Frank Dobbs scored to close to 60-55, and O'Shea made a layup and Starks a 3-pointer to tie it at 62 at 2:19.
Neither team scored again until Sears' game-winner.
