(WTNH) - Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin continues to take the basketball world by storm, hitting the last six points of the game to lead the Knicks to a comeback victory Wednesday night. And he's done that for six straight games.
The Harvard graduate has become an overnight international star. Few people may have known about him then, except of course those who had to play against him.
"I don't know if I'm feeling linsanity," said James Jones, "but it's certainly amongst us all."
"Does it feel unnatural a Yale guy rooting for a Harvard guy?"
"It does it does," replied Reggie Whilite, "I was hesitant at first, but you get caught up in all the hoopla...it's hard not to root for an underdog and jump on the bandwagon."
Even the Crimsons' bitter rival is not immune. Jeremy Lin's success has the Bulldogs beaming with Ivy League pride.
"I think what he's doing is great," said Greg Mangano. 'It's great for the NBA. It's great for the Ivy League."
"I feel great for the kid," said James Jones. "What's amazing about him, he's playing like an NBA all-star."
"For people who had doubt about the level of competition in the league, I think it shows it's a high level and he's proving it now by what he's doing," Mangano said.
"And no one could ever imagine, not even in his wildest dreams," Jones said. "I don't even think Jeremy Lin thought he'd be doing what he's doing."
Head Coach James Jones had to game plan for the Knicks new found star when he was in college.
Lin presented problems for Jones, but Jones says, "he wasn't even the best player in the league even, the thing about him was how versatile he was, he had stats in every single category."
Both Mangano and Whilite ran the floor with sports latest obsession and they say he hasn't changed much.
"He was always a great kid, you could tell he was quiet," Mangano said, "kept his mouth shut and played the game the right way."
Linsanity has even made its way to the White House: a White House spokesman said Lin's game winning shot last night was all the President could talk about this morning.
