Details: The New Haven Open is a women only WTA sanctioned event. New at the tournament this year is the finals of the US Open National Playoffs Championships, where players 14 and older compete to earn a spot in the US Open. The U.S. Open begins Monday, August 27.

Brazilians Marcelo Melo and Andre Sa won the Men's Doubles.
2007 Women's Winner: Svetlana Kuznetsova claimed the title after Agnes Szavay withdrew in the second set. Sania Mirza and Mara Santangelo took the women's doubles title.
Men's Winner: Fairfield native James Blake won the 2007 men's title over Mardy Fish in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4. Mahesh Bhupathi and Nenad Zimonjic won the men's doubles title.
2006 Men's Winner: Russian Nikolay Davydenko won in straight sets over Agustin Calleri. Jonathan Erlich & Andy Ram won the men's doubles title.
Women's Winner: Justine Henin-Hardenne won after Lindsay Davenport withdrew with a shoulder injury. Zi Yan & Jie Zheng won the women's doubles title.
2005 Men's Winner: James Blake beat Feliciano Lopez 3-6, 7-5, 6-1, completing an improbable run from unseeded challenger to champion of the Pilot Pen tournament.

2004 Pilot Pen Winner: Elena Bovina survived a two hour match in the hot sun to beat Nathalie Dechy 6-2. 26, 7-5. Meghann Shaughnessy and Nadia Petrova won the double's title.
2003 Pilot Pen Winner: Jennifer Capriati won her first Pilot Pen title when Lindsay Davenport was forced to retire with an injury to her left foot. In Doubles, Virginia Ruano Pascual and Paola Suarez defeated Alicia Molik and Magui Serna 7-6(6), 6-3.
2002 Pilot Pen Winner: She did it again. Venus Williams beat Lindsay Davenport 7-5, 6-0 to win her fourth-straight Pilot Pen title Saturday.
