Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) - Two games on Monday Night Football and one of them is the Giants, a local team not carried locally here in Connecticut.
It has sent people running to the sports bars across the state.
"It was a bummer to hear that it wouldn't be on tv at home, but I don't mind comming out [to a bar]. I'll do anything for the Giants," said Christina Lennon of Meriden.
Giants fans turned on the tv Sunday to find pictures of a torn roof at the Metrodome in Minneapolis instead of their football game. Crews instantly began repairs hoping to get the dome sealed up.
Meanwhile, here in Connecticut the hole in the dome was felt like a hole in the heart for Giants fans who couldn't get the game on tv.
"It's terrible. We are about an hour from New York and we can't get the game, which is awful," said Ben Tabellione from Cromwell.
"They should know that we are all Giants fans here and some Pats," said Eric Paquette from Meriden.
Many say shame on ESPN. They are based in Connecticut and they know how many Giant fans live here they should have allowed local coverage. They went back and fourth with Fox, but no deal was reached.
Even Richard Blumenthal tried to step in and help out. Connecticut's Attorney General sent a letter to the NFL asking it to lift a blackout of the game in Connecticut, which he said should be considered part of the Giant's home market.
