(WTNH) -- Ever since the Hartford Whalers left, we've heard it before and now we're hearing it again. Could NHL hockey ever come back to Connecticut again?
It appears that's all it is, a rumor. Sounds like more than anything it's the media running with a non-story and then that non-story gets some traction.
Because there's been a labor dispute in pro hockey, there was speculation that there would be teams for sale.
The Governor was approached about the potential of bringing a team back to Connecticut.
According to the governor, he's approached all the time and there is nothing in the works about bringing any professional sports to the state.
So sorry hockey fans, at least for now there's no reason to think the NHL is coming back to Connecticut.
