6 teams to play hoops tripleheader

    Bridgeport (AP) - Six Connecticut universities have agreed to participate in an early season basketball tripleheader designed to bring exposure to Division I programs in the state besides the University of Connecticut.

    The Connecticut 6 Classic will include Central Connecticut State University, Fairfield University, University of Hartford, Quinnipiac University, Sacred Heart University and Yale University.

    The first event will be held Nov. 13 at the Arena at Harbor Yard.

    Sacred Heart will play Yale in the first game. That will be followed by Fairfield and Central Connecticut in game two and Hartford against Quinnipiac in the third contest.

    The classic will move to the Mohegan Sun arena in Uncasville in 2010 and 2011.
