Cromwell (WTNH) - Celebrities came out to tee up, greet fans and support their charity of choice during the Pro-Am golf tournament portion of the Travelers Championship.
Sandy Koufax, a hall of fame pitcher, made his way to the golf course today but said this isn't his sport.
"I'd much rather be at a World Series, if I had a choice," he said.
The hall of famer is a man of few words and even fewer appearances. This was the his first event in five years.
There was also Patriot Pride with New England Head Coach Bill Belichick.
"It's a lot of fun to see some of the other athletes and certainly the great golfers here," he said.
Fans were also excited to see Boston Celtics Guard Ray Allen who takes the game of golf seriously. He said his round of golf cost him.
"I lost $10," he said with a smile.
It's a good bet to also find some Hollywood types, like actor Luke Wilson on the course.
"Just took three Advils, so hopefully I'll be okay," Wilson said.
Wilson plays to support Paul Newman's Hall in the Wall Camp. So does actor Joe Pesci.
"I come back for Paul Newman's memory and for these kids," he said.
The Travelers Championship will start bright and early Wednesday. Golfers will start teeing off before 7 a.m.
