Milford, Conn. (WTNH) - Many New York Giants fans were up bright and early to get their hands on some Super Bowl gear after beating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.
Fans were on the edge of their seats during the nail-biter game, but after the Giants won their fourth Super Bowl victory, fans headed out to Modell's in Milford for some victory shopping.
"Yeah, my buddy called me last night and said he got his shirt last night at like 11:00 and I gotta get it before I got to school, because I don't want to be the only one not wearing one, so I got here at 6:30 to get it," said Alex Deangelo.
The store opened Sunday night right after the game for folks who really couldn't wait.
"All the fans were coming in, we had lines going out the door," said Modell's Store Manager Gregg Trimarchi. "Everyone was great, the fans were really happy."
Now that the storybook season is over, fans are snapping up the merchandise so fast they're trucking more memoribilia from a factory in the Bronx just as fast as they can make it.
"This one's for my nephew. This one's for my son. This one's for you actually, Kaitlyn," said Mark Beaupre.
Some day 6-year-old Kaitlyn will look at her Super Bowl XLVI t-shirt and remember the game the way Brad Stephens still remembers Super Bowl XXI.
"I vaguely remember '86," said Stephens. "I remember my parents let me stay up to watch that game, and I remember Scott Norwood missing that field goal. And who could forget David Tyree's catch back in '07?"
Patriots fans can find a few things with their logo on them, because there's always next year.
