CROMWELL, Conn. (AP) — They continue dodging thunderstorms during second-round play at the PGA Tour's Travelers Championship.

Titleholder Fredrik Jacobson is the clubhouse leader. The Swede is 9-under par after signing for a 4-under 66.

Veteran Stuart Appleby fired a 65 and heads up a trio of golfers two shots off the pace.

U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson sits at minus-5 after carding a 1-under 69. Simpson says it's a good bet he'll skip next month's British Open to be with his wife for the birth of their second child.

First-round leader David Mathis followed up Thursday's 66 with a 3-over 73 to fall six shots off the pace.
