Cromwell (WTNH) - It's round one of Connecticut's golf tournament for the Traveler's Championship. Everybody went low. There's about 150 in the tournament and 105 of them were under par today.

It was perfect scoring conditions for Kenny Perry who tied the course record.

With the soft greens he was able to go aggresively after the flag setting himself up for easy birdie putts. In fact he had eagle putts on the 13th and 15th holes. But when he gets the birdie on 15 it put him at nine under. And that's how he ended -- nine under.

Paul Goydos went off in the morning and finished with a seven under par; he was one of two to finish seven under. The other was Charles Warren.

There's four guys at six under par including Greg Chalmers who had a nice long putt on 18 to finish among the leaders.

Also at six under is Boo Weekly who started at an amazing pace, birdied his first six holes and then cooled off from there.

U.S. Open Champ Lucas Glover fires a five under, Vinjay Sing and JJ Henry were four under  and Sergio Garcia -- three under.

The winner of the event will collect a check just over a million dollars on Sunday.
