STORRS, Conn. (WTNH) -- It's the end of an era at UConn as the man who put the university on the national map is stepping down.
For more than 25 years Jim Calhoun has been the face of the UConn men's basketball program.
Today the Hall of Fame coach, who has led the Huskies to three national titles, will call it quits.
Calhoun won 873 games in 40 years as a head coach, first at Northeastern and the last 26 years at UConn. He has led UConn to national titles in 1999, 2004 and 2011.
It's expected Kevin Ollie will be named as Calhoun's replacement.
Ollie played for Calhoun at UConn, enjoyed a nice NBA career and then returned to UConn as an assistant.
Calhoun is expected to make his retirement official during a 2 p.m. press conference. Watch the announcement streaming live on WTNH.com or live on WTNH and WCTX.
